Leaving a review

How To Say Thanks

Firstly, Thank You for hiring me to take photographs. As I’m sure you can tell, photography is a passion of mine and it’s a wonderful privilege to be able to share my creativity and skills in this way.

As you would remember, choosing a photographer is a daunting process. You probably spent a while looking at my folio and checking my reviews before you signed the contract to hire me as your photographer.

Tips for writing a review for your photographer

Great reviews are specific, personal, and informative. You’re more than welcome to just write a short review, but if you have the time, longer reviews are greatly appreciated.

Here’s an example of a review I love:

We could not have been happier with Dan's work on our wedding day. We were delighted to see how Dan captured each of our special and significant moments, as well as the unplanned and funny ones. He had a warm and friendly presence and a real knack for blending in naturally and putting us and our guests at ease when in front of the camera. We also appreciated his attention to detail, professionalism and flexibility as we planned for our day. He really went above and beyond to be helpful and provide us with a beautiful collection of photos. Highly recommend!

What if I can’t give a 5-star Review?

In the photography industry, a five-star review is typically the norm that clients give if they are happy with the service that they received.

Here’s what a five-star review means to me and my future clients:

A five-star review does not mean that the photographs are entirely perfect or flawless. Even one or two reviews that are less than five stars can hurt a photography business.

If there is anything you are unhappy about, I would love you to contact me privately first so that I can try to address your concerns. Here are some questions to think about when giving feedback:

If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Wrapping up

I love receiving great reviews and I can’t wait to hear your unique perspectives on my photos. They make such a difference for prospective clients who are interested in finding a photographer.

I encourage my clients to copy the same review over to both Google and Facebook. Unfortunately, I am unable to post the reviews from my account. This is so that Google and Facebook can ensure that reviews are genuine.
